Seems I forgot about the digital Layouts I created with the photos I just posted on my Just a Glimpse blog.

Here is thea Digital LO that I was working on today. I was trying out the actions from PW and since I had the computer I decided to do them all digital. I will definitely be scrapping this on in paper, digital stuff just didn't do what I wanted, but I love how it turned out any ways.

This is one of my favorite ones photos from the day, so many good actions on this one and I loved how the teal of her jacket was just slightly showing through.

Here is my layout from Teresa's Sketch challenge, I rotated it side ways and as always with me and sketches, I usually changes things slightly, but I like how it turned out.

This is another digital layout I completed while playing around with some of the PW PS actions, but this one is for the M is for Masculine Challenge.

I love this one of my dh playing on the sipline thing at the park. He sure was enjoying himself and when I saw this quote by Allen Beck, I knew it was perfect for this LO.

I just loved this photo of Nolan, I played around with some of PW's PS actions and love how it turned out. Then I created this digital layout for Kimberly's Nursery Rhyme Challenge.

I will scrap this photo with paper, but I was having fun playing in the digital world today.

New Layouts

Ok it has been a while since I've uploaded photos to this blog, but I have been doing some scrapping and I've decided to add them all now. So let's take a trip through the past months and see what I've been up to!!!

I did this challenge for Sue's Snap Shot in Time for the LYL challenge...

I completed this LO for Cindy's March Bling and Sparkle Challenge (Bling is obvious, and stickles added to the flower border on the right although hard to se).

Kimberly also challenged me to do a LO of white on white and this is end result and I love it.

I love how this one turned out.

I Glimmer misted (Candy Apple) the chipboard swirls and letters, man I just love this stuff, they letters were not quite dry when I had to take the photo, and I noticed they weren't quite straight.

This is my layout using the Feb kit for the challenge.
The photo does not do this LO justice, it looks so much better IRL, but the lighting is off here and the weather doesn't permit photo taking outside.

I love teal and red, and this was so up my alley. I also combined this with a challenge to use 5 different products that I was sent.

Fancy Pants Overlay - I cut out a glittered circle and used it in the center of the butterfly.

I love this month's stamp and it worked so perfectly on the teal pp, I distressed the edges to give it a worn letter look, and I have some of my dh's poems that he has written me a few over the years tucked in behind the c/s.

I also used Cotton Candy stickles on the pink pp to trace around the blossoms and glimmer misted the butterfly with frost and jazz blue.

This LO was fun to do, I started one night when my gfs were over and I was trying to decide on a title and one of my gf came up with the wrestlemania... then the rest just fit. I had to girly it up though and although I am not a fan of birds, the ones in this paper are very cute.

I really love this layout and the colors I used for it. I am undecided if I want to put a title on it or not, my dh asked if it was done, and said it looked like it was missing something. I was going for the simple look.

This is of Rylee on her 4th birthday, she had a PINK paper doll party and had so much fun.

This LO was created for a challenge where we were given the following items:

I converted the arrow and the flower into a candle for the cupcake., painted, the glues down the pink seed beads, and then glossy accented the cupcake top. It looks so cool IRL.

I love this LO of my two girls setting out the milk, cookies and a can of coke, they saw the Coca Cola commercial, and Grandpa thought Santa might like it ...

I used this Deco Art Snow Tex stuff and some pink glitter on the Grungeboard swirl... I LOVE IT!!!!

My two lovely daughter's last year on Christmas Morning just after Mass. I loved these jackets the minute I saw them, and couldn't resist. When I saw this photo, I was reminded of Christmas Carollers, so when I found the My Mind's Eye Paper with the We Wish You a Merry Christmas on it, I knew exactly what I was going to do... create a song book. I Love how this turned out and of course all the BLING!!!

I loved this challenge, I got my SS gift done and love how it turned out. The Christmas Planner is made from a standard sized file folder. I love this new BG line and love how these two items turned out, I hope my SS loves them just as much. (Look at this, I even get to taunt my SS with this post).

Here is my LO for the 2nd round of the Scrap lift Tag Challenge. What a great challenge it was and I happen to love the way this LO turned out. I don't like birds, but these were cool, I painted them, then flocked them. The SCRIBLZ title was a bit tricky, I had to cut part way through the backing so it would keep the spacing and curve the way I wanted.

I found I am a wee bit tree challenged and spent most of my time trying to get this right, so I decided to skip the trees top and use flowers and buttons.

This LO was a lot of fun to do, although this was a challenge for me. I started with the Zune ad, but as I was working and looking at the ads, I found my LO was transforming into it's own design which was being influenced by the Vespa Ad. I loved how the center of the ad was the focus and that the words and swirls were pulled out from the photo. This is where my LO was created and I love the end rseult.

I've popped up the photo and most of the embellishments are attached to the layout by means of the photo as the brown corrugated card stock, does in fact pull out and the journaling is on the back side of it.

Boys Will Be Boys…

I don't think I fully understood this saying until you were born. I grew up with 3 brothers and they were rough, tuff boys always getting into things, but I had my own life and was so busy doing my own things that I didn't pay that much attention to how different we really were. So other then the physical difference between boys and girls, I didn't really understand how different you were going to be until this summer when you started to become more independent and less of a baby. Wow, I sure had an awakening, especially when the girls were gone for most of the summer and you had all my attention. I loved playing with you, but my ankles and knees have never been as bruised as they were after spending an afternoon of play time with you. There was no cute baby and Mom cuddle time, you were on the go and didn't want to stop and pause, there was too much world out there to explore and explore it you did.

Your sister being such a tom boy as she is, still didn't prepare me for what life was going to be like. You love to throw things, any thing and every thing you can get you hands on and if you have it in your right hand, we have a fighting chance, but left handed we are in trouble, you have a deadly throw and I've been the target on more then one occasion. Your sister who also loves playing with blocks and cars, loves to play tractors with you, and it is wonderful to watch the two of you play, but I have to chuckle as I once thought she was aggressive with her toys and boy was I ever wrong. I love watching you play with your toys; there is such a determination in you to unengineer it all. Your Dad and I were so proud of you when we had turned one of your toys off (those blasted things make so much noise), and having watched your Dad, as soon as you got the tractor back and realized we turned off the motor, you flipped it over and tried to turn the switch back on.

I am reminded just how much of a boy you really are when I saw this photo wearing the outfit your Uncle bought you. The leather jacket, the denim jeans with the chain, you are such a little boy and I am very blessed to have you in my life. So although I am still a new Mom in the kingdom of Boys, I am looking forward to all the times we will have so I can learn what the infamous saying Boys Will Be Boys is all about.

Rebus Challenge....

Update on last week....

My Cover Girl layout came in 5th place, which is fantastic, although the prize at the end is amazing, I am doing these challenges for me, and the extra points awarded by the judges is a bonus in my books.

Another week has gone by and I've created another layout for the Just Cre8 Idol Challenge. I had fun creating this one, lots of bling and glitter and it looks great, funny enough I doubt I have ever used that much glitter on any layout of mine, but I think it works and looks good. The rebus puzzle part of the lo is what challenged me the most, I had the idea of the two photos of me, but I was a bit challenged to pick a topic that worked and didn't look odd on the layout. I started with Green with Envy, but it didn't seem to work for me and I had no journalling to go with that, then I thought of several other ways to get that in the title, then I thought about the comment my husband made when he came downstairs... "Gee I love what you did with yourself...." Too many pictograms for my liking, then I thought about What a transformation... I was just about to use that and I didn't like the transformer or the light bulb on my paper, it just looked out of place. Then out of nowhere I thought of Witch is Witch and I had two transparency Witches in my stash, so there you have it, my title was born and here is the layout to go with it.

Every year we try to do something big for my husband's birthday, and every year it is a success. I loved Halloween as a child, not so much in my late teen years, but after meeting my husband who was born on Halloween, the love for the festivities surrounding this spooky day has returned. It seems each year I tend to go all out on one part of the party or another, I've done the frankenstein cake, the murder mystery dinner parties and this year, I decided that I would go all out on my costume and for the first time I painted my face and found a nose, fake nails and everything. It was so much fun, and the only reason anyone recoginized me was because I answered the door. We had prizes for costumes and pumpkins this year, and despite asking everyone to omit my name, I still had several votes in the costume category.

Alexis, my sweet beautiful little girl, this photo was taken just prior to your sixth birthday, and fortunately for you, your birthday coincides with the start of a new school year. I always loved when September came as that signified school was going to start again, so when I look at this photo of you just before starting grade one I started to reflect on my own childhood years. Grade one was an epic year, and 27 years later I still remember my first week of grade one. I missed my Mom more then anything. I was excited to have a new group of friends, but being away from my Mom for that long was so overwhelming for me, that I too remember crying. I was so touched when your teacher told me, you came to talk to her and that you miss me and were having a hard time with it. You know what, I miss you too.

Your grade one teacher is wonderful, she reminds me a lot of my grade one teacher, Mrs. Sorge. She has always been one of my favorites and although I don't recall too many things about grade school, some of the fondest memories are from grade one. The biggest was the Christmas concert, where I was part of the heard of angels and Mrs. Sorge had a brilliant idea to make me the Star of Bethlehem. I had this gi-normous star all glittery and gold around my head and I wore it proudly. I stood on the chair behind the alter stretching all the way up to the tips of my toes, so I could be the best star of Bethlehem. As I reflect, I look at you and see all the great and wonderful things you are accomplishing and I can see the same will and determination within you that I had, we are so similar, and that makes me smile.

Alexis, you are a very kind and considerate young girl, and that is evident in all the friends that want to include you. You have abilities that not all of your friends have, and one your best attributes is how well you handle this, instead of flaunting your greatness, you use your talent in a positive way to help your friends improve on theirs. It is no wonder you are liked by all, this isn't about a popularity contest. It is about being a good friend and a good person and you epitomize them both. One of my most proud mommy moments, is when I overheard a couple of parents and teachers complimenting you, saying how sweet and genuinely nice you were, and that they would love to have their daughters be your friend. My heart swelled with the kind of love and pride only a parent knows.

You are my very special little girl, and if someone was to choose an image, and I am not just referring to the outer beauty, but if they wanted to choose someone who epitomized what real beauty is for this age, then you, my darling daughter, would be their Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, CoverGirl.

Just Cre8 - Idol Contest

This is an amazing contest and a fabulous way to get 5 great LO's completed in 5 weeks. Check here for the details of this contest, although it is closed for new sign ups, it is a great opportunity and you can play along yourelf for the challenge.

This weeks Challenge was to Choose a famous slogan, from present or past, and Cre8 a layout!

I had the journalling and the whole idea laid out in my mind, but I couldn't find the perfect photo to go with it. Crazy, in my 10,000+ photos I couldn't find one single one to work, so I changed my whole idea, googled more slogand and came up with a LO that I LOVE!!!!

I can't show it just yet.... as the reveal isn't until 7:00pm my time so check back later tonight and I will have it uploaded with the journalling that I could hardly read through when I was reading it to my dh. Yes, I am a sentimental sap, but once you read it you will understand.

One Year - how quickly it passes...

This is the album that I created for Nolan's first year. I didn't do any journalling for this album as it was purely from a growth perspective and for me to have something to look back on and see how much he changed from month to month, and at times even often throughtout each month.

I used the "Dude" Collection from Crate Paper, including the rubons, die cuts, ribbons and brads. and my first thought was I love this collection, but most of it is suited for a much older boy. As I have shown in this album it is perfect for any boy, even one who hasn't e ven turned one.

A friend gave me this towel, and I just love this photo of him wearing it, so much so that I have it framed in his room. What a little cutie!!!

These photos were taken on Halloween when we did a fall family photo shoot. My favorite photo of him in that cool old tire swing.

Month 4

Although they have Santa in it with him, but this photo was taken end of November and we had breakfast with Santa that morning, then headed to the mall to get som fabulous photos taken with the big man in red. He looks so handsome in his sweater vest.

Month 5 - New Year's Eve

This adorable little outfit came all the way from France. My brother was visiting in November and found it for my little man. I love it, so much so that I did another LO of him wearing it. I will post that here too.

Month 6 - Mr. Man

I can't get over how much he has grown in 6 short months. another great photo of him while he was playing in his ultra saucer.

Month 7

One of my favorite photos of him. My girlfriend who happens to be his God Mother found this adorable Kenneth Cole outfit, with the leather jacket. We spent the afternoon doing a photo shoot of him. What a hoot that was and we captured some amazing photos of him (I will upload that LO here too)

Month 8 - Spring Time at the Soccer Field

Poor Little Man, was freezing cold watching the girls play soccer, and although he was a bit cranky, today he was a perfect gentleman and loved watching the kids run around.

Month 9 - Mr Personality shines Through

Look at this... Mr tuff guy. I just love how his personality shines through in this photo.

Month 9 - New Hair Cut

My baby when from a baby to a little boy overnight and all it took was a pair of scissors. Here we just had our photo taken together after our night at the salon. I love this photo of us.

Month 10 - Summer BBQ

Doesn't everyone have this photo... a child and a beer bottle. No there was no beer in that bottle at all, in fact we even washed it out before giving it to him. He was teething really badly at this point and the cool glass was soothing on his gums. He loved it!!!

Month 1o - Western Wedding

My girlfriedn got married end of June at a ranch in AB, and her Mom put this cowboy hat on him. What an adorable little guy. Love this photo of him.

Month 11 - All Tuckered Out

A full day at the Museum a BBQ qith family and this little guy couldn't keep his eyes open any longer. What a sweet photo though of my two boys.

Month 11 - Camping

What a hoot this was, although camping with a child that can't walk means you need to comprimise, we did we brought a highchair and some large plastic buckets for him to play in. It was a blast and he enjoyed spending time with his uncles. He always loved the ladies ack home, but when we were thee, he loved his uncles and grandpa more then anything. It was very sweet and enduring.

Month 12 - Dump Trucks and Tractors

He got this dump truck for his birthday from us, and he loved it, still does. I placed him on it one afternoon and snapped at least 100 hundred photos and this is my favorite from that day.

1 Year Old - Back Cover

Hard to beleive that one year has gone by and so quickly, doing this album really touched my heart especially looking over the year and actually seeing the year through 14 pages. This photo was taken on his Birthday with his uncle and his John Deer Tractor cake.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

There is so much truth behind that title, and I just happen to think my daughters are both beautiful. Today though is a Layout about my youngest daughter Rylee, she is such a tomboy and here my husband has captured her inner beauty on the outside and I just love this photo of her. I know I have scrapped this photo before, but it such a good one that it can be part of several LOs I think.

In any case, this LO was completed for a 5 Products 5 scrappers Challenge and since the due date (today) crept up on me, I completed it yesterday afternoon. Our Products were the Cream Prima Flowers, the black arrow photo turn, the Black and Cream Ribbon and the Prima Black Say it With Crystal on the side of my photo.

In addition I used the paper from the K&C0 Blue Awning Line, Black Bazzil card stock which I punched with my Martha Stewart Edge Punch (oh I love this punch). I also embellished around a pile of Prima flowers (which were given to me by Carla... thank you so much, I love these) with some Kaiser Rhinestones, and added some Heidi Swapp Chalndelier Bling to my Ribbon and the final touch of course is the Basic Grey Flourish Rubon on the side of the photo. The title is from Skriblz and has a butterfly as part of it, which I planned on using on the right side of the LO, but after putting the BG rubon on, I thought it didn't need it.

I love how this LO turned out, I printed my photo in Sepia to work with the K & Co paper and I am very pleased, this is now one of my favorites.

New Album

I've been working hard on another album and it is almost finished. I have some chipboard that is drying and I need to pick up some more ribbon so I can finish the ring details. I hope my local scrap store still has the ribbon in stock, otherwise I'll have to do my best with what scraps of ribbon I have from my project and whatever I can match to it.

So for now, I will leave you with a peek....

Acrylic Album - Prima Class

My girlfriend and I took a class out in Langley at Clipper Street. Trisha Ladouceur taught this class and let me tell you, despite the 1hour drive, the large class size (about 40 ladies, we are used to 5 -10) and the cost of the class, it was totally worth it and we both agreed we would go again to any of her classes in a heart beat.

We had an amazing time and learned a few new techniques while we were there. It was my first attempt at an acrylic album and I can tell you I am hooked. I have a tendency to overload my pages from edge to edge and I think this is the hook to get me to focalize and minimize my work. Don't get me wrong I love my layouts, but I have been wanting to try a few different styles and this is totally perfect. I even have a few albums waiting for me to do.

We got to try our hand at Glimmer Mist... love love love this product. I didn't buy any as I need to have a project in mind so I can choose some colors to match.

Although not new technique, I used flocking for the first time. I have some of this at home, just hadn't pulled it out and worked with it, now I have some wonderful ideas... halloween is just around the corner and I am excite

I grew up in AB, and have relatives that live in Drumheller, so this wasn't my first visit, but it was for my kids and if I could bottle up their excitement that day, I could make a small fortune. It was an amazing day, one that we will all remember for years to come. All, that is except for Nolan, I think he is just too little to remember this trip, so fortunately for him, we will have to make another stop there when he is old enough to appreciate it.

I love Henderson Lake, I grew up playing here all the time and I loved it, it has the best climbing trees for kids and in the fall makes an amazing backdrop for photos. The lake is pretty amazing for a man made lake and naturally many wedding photos are taken here.

My girls will have fond memories of making s'mores with their grandma and cousins. We had such a great time camping together and really what is camping without the gooey sweet sticky marshmallow smashed between graham crackers and chocolate chips. Even though I couldn't eat them, the kids devoured them.

My little man, not quite old enough to walk and a little too old to sleep all day. We had no idea what to do with you, but luckily we brought along grandma's garage sale high chair. You had the perfect eating table and you loved it, especially at snack time.

Aren't you the cutest thing ever. Marissa's mom put her son's cowboy hat on you, and you loved it. I don't think you have ever kept a hat on your head yet, unless it had straps and we velcro'd you up. Come to think of it, you even managed to get those off. Needless to say, you didn't even try. Maybe it was all the attention you were getting with it on, but how can any women especially from the prairies resist you, Mr. Handsome!!!

Alexis, my very pretty young lady... and yes that is so true, you aren't a little girl any longer, at almost 6 years old you have grown up so much. This photo that your Dad captured down by the river is amazing, I can hardly believe that a still photo can capture so much of who you are. You are my beautiful girl.

My Rylee, just like your sister, this photo captures the softer side of you. You are such a rough tough tomboy, but occasionally, the soft pretty feminine girl that you are comes out and although rare, your Dad captured it today and I often find myself staring at this picture and wondering what you will be like when you are older... only time will tell.

Acrylic Album Back

Well that is it. I am sure I could add several more pages to this book, and in time I just might. I have so many other pictures that would be perfect in here, I just need to find (in my stash) the perfect papers and embellies to go along with it. So keep your eyes posted, I may have some more goodies for you to see.

That's it for today, it is Nolan's first birthday today and I want to work on an album for him, something to capture his first year. I have some ideas, just nothing down yet.

Creative

I was feeling creative today. I found this amazing blogger template from Lena who my friend Katrina Murphy referred on her blog. I really liked the look of her blog and thought I would take a look around and see what creative templates she created. This is what I found, or at least what was posted yesterday. I have redecorated today and spent a good portion of my free time (while the cakes were baking) creating the new header you see. Then this evening I thought I would add some cool things, and got as far as the slide show. It certainly doesn't have everything I have created, but it is a good showing. So until I have more time to upload the photos and the journaling for each layout, you will at least have this to enjoy.

Now since I really should be working on that cake, I will bid you good night, and maybe early next week after Nolan's party I will be able to do more to this site.

Welcome...

Since I am so good with this blogging thing, I decided to create yet another blog to fall behind on. :) Actually the intention of this blog is a place for me to store my work. I want to upload my scrapbooking layouts, cards, gifts, albums etc. Anything really that is creative with the exception of my cakes.

Over the next few days, I will slowly upload what I have been working on so if you are interested, check back again.
